CoEfficient has worked on hundreds of projects since 2010. Below is a description of some of the projects we've helped our clients with.
This project involved the design of a vapour-open thermally-broken envelope assembly for a mid-century rancher-style bungalow located in North Vancouver, BC. This assembly allows the wall system to breathe and dry to the interior and exterior, which is ideal in the wet, humid climate in North Vancouver. A full WUFI hygrothermal analysis was performed to ensure the long-term durability of the envelope system.
2010 to Present
CoEfficient Building Science has performed hundreds of EnerGuide ratings on new and existing houses since 2010. Our client-focused approach allows for quick, accurate EnerGuide ratings that minimize disruption for homeowners and builders. We also provide consulting and blower door services to help homeowners and home builders reach their energy efficiency targets as cost-effectively as possible.
ADVANCED AIR TIGHTNESS TESTING
2010 to Present
CoEfficient Building Science has a combined experience of thousands of blower door tests, including single-detached, semi-detached, multi-unit residential, commercial buildings, and cutting-edge guarded air tightness testing. We can perform this service in conjunction with infrared thermography for air leakage mitigation and pre-drywall testing for new builds.
November 2015 to Present
We help builders and home owners navigate and meet the newly-changed energy code requirements in various jurisdictions. With the uncertainty home builders, renovators, and home owners face with energy code requirements, we are perfectly positioned to help them understand these requirements and meet them while minimizing costs and providing code compliance certification documentation.
QA INSPECTION & CONSULTING
2013 to Present
We have worked with several custom and large-volume builders to provide third-party independent multi-stage inspections during home construction. This provides us the opportunity to help builders catch major deficiencies that would result in costly warranty repairs, improve processes, and train crews in construction best-practices.
DESIGN COMPETITIONS & RESEARCH
2016 to Present
We have worked with academia on research including novel renewable energy systems and passive design certification. CoEfficient energy also won a design competition for a zero-carbon retrofit of a Toronto area elementary school. It is through these endeavours that our passion for low-energy design and construction can help move our industry forward towards a sustainable future.
